Reader Response 2

Huck was influenced by tom sawyer because Tom never stopped something he started; he always finished what he started and never gave up. An example to support what I believe is (Ch. 12, pg. 51, par 3) when Huck says “Tom Sawyer wouldn’t back out now, and so I wont either.” When they found the 2 people on the abandon ship that tied a man up and was about to kill him.
Huck was influenced by Pap by his manners of being nice and not being rude to other people. An example from the book to support what I believe was when Huck was borrowing food from other people and being polite with the manners that were taught to him while him and Jim were on the river. (ch. 12, pg. 49, par. 3) when pap said that it wasn’t harmful to borrow things if you mean to pay them back what you borrowed from them.
Huck was influenced by Widow Douglas because she was mainly the one who took care of him and taught him pretty much right from wrong. Huck looked up to Widow a lot for situations or conflicts he was in because he knew Widow would always help him out of a bad situation he was in. An example to support what I believe is when Huck said “I had stopped cussing because the Widow doesn’t like it; but now I took it up again because pap hadn’t no objections.” (Ch. 6, pg. 18, par. 3).
Huck is influenced by Jim because Huck listens to what Jim has to say. Huck considers Jim to be his best friend and Jim feels the same way about Huck. Jim looks out for Huck like he’s his little brother or a family member. An example that supports what I believe would be in (Ch.12 pg. 49 par. 3) Huck said “Jim Reckoned that the Widow…to borrow the others.”
